FOUR COMPANIES BATTLE WADE STREET BLAZE

Waynesburg-Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to 175 Wade Street in Franklin Township at 05:00 on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, for a report of smoke throughout the multi-purpose structure. Shortly after firefighters arrived, flames broke through the roof at the rear of the structure.

Waynesburg was assisted by Jefferson, Carmichaels-Cumberland Township, and Rice’s Landing Volunteer Fire Departments. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was also asked to respond to investigate the source of the blaze.

The former roller rink was now home to a variety of businesses as well as a single-family apartment. All occupants safely exited the building.
