Fire Company Responds To Fatal Fire in Waynesburg

The Waynesburg - Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Company responded to a structure fire with entrapment at 5:15 AM this morning.  Upon arrival, heavy fire conditions on all three floors of the structure.  The fire company was assisted by the Jefferson VFC, EMS Southwest, Waynesburg Borough Police Department.  The fire in under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal unit.  There were two young victims of this tragic fire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.

Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company assisted EMS Southwest and Waynesburg Borough Police Department at the scene of a two vehicle motor vehicle accident.  Fire Department removed passenger side door and assisted with removing patient.

The Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Washington Road in Franklin Township.  Waynesburg was assisted on the call by the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department.  The structure had significant fire and smoke damage.

Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company participated in National Fire Prevention Week.  Fire Safety discussions and displays were setup in conjunction with Waynesburg Central Elementary School.

Motor Vehicle Accident Interstate 79

The Waynesburg - Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Company responded to a crash on Interstate 79 Northbound just north of the Ruff Creek Exit.  Two patients were extricated and airlifted by medical helicopter to the hospital.  Pennsylvania State Police and EMS Southwest were also on scene.

Waynesburg Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company provided assistance to EMS Southwest at a two car motor vehicle accident.  the Fire Department extricated 3 patient from the red vehicle.  PA State Police was investigating the crash.

Waynesburg Franklin Twp Volunteer Fire Department assisted Draeger Manufacturing in showing the Mobile Live Fire Burn Simulator.  2 firefighters from Argentina visited Waynesburg on August 4th and spent a couple hours touring the trailer.  A translator assisted with communications.

The Waynesburg Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Company responded to a crash on Interstate 79 Northbound around the 17 mile marker.  The crash involved a tractor trailer and a car.  The Fire Company assisted the Pennsylvania State Police and EMS Southwest.

First Structure Burn Session in Burn Trailer

The Waynesburg - Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Company conducted its first Structure Burn Session in the Mobile Live Fire Training Simulator.  There were 16 People in the class.  Other Fire Companies sending members to the class were Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company, Carmichaels - Cumberland Twp. Volunteer Fire Company, and the Mt. Morris Volunteer Fire Company.

Funeral Home Visitation for Allen Harding

It is with regret we announce the passing of retired member Allen Harding. A Fire Company Memorial Service is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Friday, June 26, 2008 at the Behm Funeral Home in Waynesburg. We would ask that any members attending, please arrive at the Funeral Home at 6:50 P.M and if you have a Dress Uniform please wear it. Our condolences go out to his entire family.

The Christian Sandbox pre-school visited the Waynesburg Station on Monday May 18th.  They learned about basic fire safety/prevention and watched the Sesame Street video “Elmo visits the Firehouse”.  They also learned about strangers from the Waynesburg Borough Police Department.  Over 50 kids and grown-ups were in attendance.
